The Eagle has Landed – L’Aigle French Minehunter in West India Dock

Today we said goodbye to the Gorch Fock and HMCS Iroquois in West India Dock but welcome  L’ Aigle an Eridan Class Mine Warfare Vessel of the French Navy.

The L’Aigle is the latest in a long line of ships in the French Navy to bear the name Aigle meaning Eagle.

The ship is known as a Tripartite vessel because it was made in the 1980s as part of  a joint venture between the French, Belgian and Dutch Navies.

It will open for a tour between 2pm and 5pm on Friday the 3rd of May.
