Super Yacht Kismet in West India Dock

It has been a very quiet year for boats visiting West India Dock but we have the arrival of a regular visitor over the years. The Super Yacht Kismet was last here in 2019 before the pandemic.

Kismet is a large superyacht and has visited the dock a couple of times before in 2014 and 2016. It often comes to London when its owner Pakistani-American billionaire businessman Shahid Khan wants to entertain guests attending NFL matches in London. His NFL team Jacksonville Jaguars play Maimi Dolphins at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on the 17th October 2019.

The yacht is often tucked away at the bottom of the dock for some time before being taken up to near Tower Bridge for entertaining guests.

Kismet is 308ft long has three decks and a private sundeck with a pool-Jacuzzi-BBQ area and all mod cons. The ship features exterior styling by Espen and interior design by Reymond Langton Design featuring marble and rare woods, it will accommodate 12 guests in six staterooms, and has a crew of 20.

This ship is the second vessel named Kismet owned by Mr Khan and estimated to have cost 200 million dollars, a previous 223ft yacht was sold for a rumoured £70 million in 2013. The new Kismet was built at German boatyard Lurssen.

Unusually for the secretive super yacht world, a great deal seems to be known about Kismet and it was rumoured in 2019 that the yacht was up for sale.

The nights may be drawing in and there is a slight chill in the air but we are still having a few interesting visitors in West India Dock. Today saw the arrival of the Super Yacht Kismet.
Kismet is a large superyacht and has visited the dock a couple of times before in 2014 and 2016. It often comes to London when its owner Pakistani-American billionaire businessman Shahid Khan wants to entertain guests attending NFL matches in London. His NFL team Jacksonville Jaguars play Houston at Wembley Stadium on the 3rd Nov 2019.
Last time the yacht arrived it was tucked away at the bottom of the dock for some time before being taken up to near Tower Bridge.

Super Yacht Kismet in West India Dock
Recently has been very busy in West India Dock with the Thames Barges saying farewell yesterday and the arrival of one of the biggest Super Yachts Kismet which is said to have cost $200 million. Kismet has visited the dock before in 2014 when by a strange coincidence there was a French Patrol boat and a Thames sailing barge in dock. Kismet joins the French Navy Ship Cephee and the Super Yacht Ilona in the dock.
Last time the ship arrived in London it caused a bit if a stir when it was initially moored near Tower Bridge for a few days. Part of the reason for the interest in the Super yacht Kismet is that it is owned by the owner of Football and NFL teams, Pakistani-American billionaire businessman Shahid Khan.
This visit is much more low-key with the massive yacht tucked away at the bottom of the dock. Part of the reason could be that some work may being done on the yacht. I could not fail to notice it had lost the letter ‘T’ from its name plates. The question to ask, is the yacht changing its name ? Which may indicate that it had been sold.

Super Yacht Kismet in West India Dock -November 11th 2014
To prove that good things come in threes, we have another visitor in West India Dock that arrived yesterday afternoon. With due respect to the Sailing barge and the French Patrol boat , this ship is a bit of a celebrity causing considerable interest as it was initially moored near Tower Bridge for the last few days. Part of the reason for the interest in the Super yacht Kismet is that it is suggested it is owned by the owner of Fulham FC, Pakistani-American billionaire businessman Shahid Khan.
Shahid Khan is also the owner of the NFL team the Jacksonville Jaguars who played the Dallas Cowboys at an International Series game on Sunday. It is reported in United States newspapers that he entertained the owner of the Dallas Cowboys and others at a party on the yacht over the weekend.
A major clue to the ownership is a silver Jaguar has been recently attached to the bow, with one of its paws resting on a silver American football helmet. However it must be detachable because in West India Dock it is not there.
