Super Yacht Force India in West India Dock

dscn2209

Rather belatedly ( the yacht arrived at the weekend ), I managed to take a closer look at the latest Super yacht in West India Dock. The Force India Super yacht was built by Overmarine in Italy in 2007.

dscn2210

The 49.9 metre ( 163 feet ) yacht can accommodate 10 guests in a one master suite, one VIP, two doubles and one twin, all located on the lower deck.

dscn2217

The yacht has the latest technological equipment and the usual array of water toys including jetskis, seabobs and snorkelling gear too.

dscn2212

There are reports that the yacht is available for charter or for sale for around 13 million pounds.

But as usual in the secretive world of super yachts it is difficult to find out a lot of information. The Force India joins the Ilona in the West India Dock which has been berthed there since August.

Super Yacht Kismet in West India Dock

Recently has been very busy in West India Dock with the Thames Barges saying farewell yesterday and the arrival of one of the biggest Super Yachts Kismet which is said to have cost $200 million. Kismet has visited the dock before in 2014 when by a strange coincidence there was a French Patrol boat and a Thames sailing barge in dock. Kismet joins the French Navy Ship Cephee and the Super Yacht Ilona in the dock.

Last time the ship arrived in London it caused a bit if a stir when it was initially moored near Tower Bridge for a few days.  Part of the reason for the interest in the Super yacht Kismet is that it is owned by the owner of Football and NFL teams, Pakistani-American billionaire businessman Shahid Khan.

dscn0486-2

This visit is much more low-key with the massive yacht tucked away at the bottom of the dock. Part of the reason could be that some work may being done on the yacht. I could not fail to notice it had lost the letter ‘T’ from its name plates. The question to ask,  is the yacht changing its name ? Which may indicate that it had been sold.

dscn0492-2

Kismet is 308ft long has three decks and a private sundeck with a pool-Jacuzzi-BBQ area and all mod cons. The ship features exterior styling by Espen Øino and interior design by Reymond Langton Design featuring marble and rare woods, it will accommodate 12 guests in six staterooms, and has a crew of 20. This ship is the second vessel named Kismet owned by Mr Khan , a previous 223ft yacht was sold for a rumoured £70 million in 2013. The new Kismet was built at German boatyard Lurssen.

dscn0490-2

Unusually for the secretive super yacht world, a great deal seems to be known about Kismet and  if you fancy life aboard, the super yacht can be chartered for £940,000 or  1.6 million dollars a week.

Super Yacht Kismet in West India Dock -November 11th 2014

DSCN8241

To prove that good things come in threes, we have another visitor in West India Dock that arrived yesterday afternoon. With due respect to the Sailing barge and the French Patrol boat , this ship is a bit of a celebrity causing considerable interest as it was initially moored near Tower Bridge for the last few days.  Part of the reason for the interest in the Super yacht Kismet is that it is suggested it is owned by the owner of Fulham FC, Pakistani-American billionaire businessman Shahid Khan.

DSCN8244

Shahid Khan is also the owner of the NFL  team the Jacksonville Jaguars who played the Dallas Cowboys at an International Series game on Sunday.  It is reported in United States newspapers that he entertained the owner of the Dallas Cowboys and others at a party on the yacht over the weekend.

DSCN8243

A major clue to the ownership is a silver Jaguar has been recently  attached to the bow, with one of its paws resting on a silver American football helmet. However it must be detachable because in West India Dock it is not there.

This ship is the second vessel named Kismet owned by Mr Khan , a previous 223ft yacht was sold for a rumoured £69 million last year.  The  new Kismet is  94 meter (308ft) and  built at German boatyard Lurssen.

Super Yacht Z in West India Dock

DSCN3585

We have in recent times had a number of Super Yachts visit West India Dock, today we have another called “Z” .

DSCN3583

Z  is brand new and has just undertaken its maiden voyage from the Netherlands.

DSCN3587

Strangely enough Z seems to be a popular name for a yacht , but I believe this Z is the one made at the famous Amels  shipyard in the Netherlands.

DSCN3591

Its length is  64.70m (212′)  with a beam of  11.88m (38’98”)  with a maximum speed of 17 knots.

DSCN3588

It has accommodation for 14 guests and 16 crew and was designed by Tim Heywood.

DSCN3593

Even the crew do not know how long the Super yacht will be in dock, but if you want to see a brand new state of the art Super yacht head down to West India Dock.

The West India Dock welcomes another Superyacht with the arrival of the Sea Owl.

DSC04159

The Sea Owl was built in the Netherlands by Feadship, who organised an official handing over ceremony at Amsterdam’s Maritime Museum in July.

DSC04166

The 62 metre Superyacht has an unusual green and white colour scheme with some of the exterior and most of the interior being designed by award winning British designers Andrew Winch.

DSC04176

Besides the owners stateroom, the yacht has 3 guest cabins, two kid’s cabins and a nanny cabin. The  yacht operates with a regular crew of 18.

The owner of the yacht is a American who runs a successful Hedge Fund in the United States.

Super Yacht Light Holic in West India Dock

lh1

Once more we welcome a Super Yacht in the West India Dock with the large and sleek Light Holic.

Previously known as the Darlings Danama, the ship has recently been sold and renamed.

lh2

In the mysterious world of Super Yachts, it is difficult to know who the new owner is and how much they paid for the Yacht , however before it was sold it was available for charter at 350,000 Euros a week.

lh3

Built in 2011 in Italy by CRN, it is certainly sleek and fits in well with the surroundings of Canary Wharf.

lh4

The ship is 59 metres (195 ft) long, a beam of 10 metres (33 ft) and caters for up to 12 guests and has a crew of 14.
